Does preventing T1D in childhood through β cell preservation and T1D management reduce diabetes deaths in adulthood?

Topic: Preventing type 1 diabetes in childhood:

Diabetes is becoming one of the rising causes of death in America, especially in children today. According to the American Diabetes Association (2022), nearly 244,000 children and adolescents in America live with type 1 diabetes. This health condition is responsible for life-threatening health conditions such as kidney failure, blindness, and lower-limb amputations. T1D management in children can change from late diagnosis and insulin replacement to early diagnosis preservation of β cells that can help anticipate the future without daily insulin injection need (Dayan et.al, 2021).

Therefore, one of the key research questions that a study on preventing type 1 diabetes in childhood is; does preventing T1D in childhood through β cell preservation and T1D management reduce diabetes deaths in adulthood?

The parameters will be tested against the variables such as the impact of early diagnosis, cost, and severity.
