Choose an organization to discuss
KM efforts can be thwarted by corporate culture. Any KM implementation must embrace an understanding and engage with the underlying organizational culture (and even subcultures in large organizations). Culture refers to common and widespread patterns of values, attitudes and habits of behaviors, and thinking. For effective communications and change, it is essential to have a very clear view of the traits and behaviors that support and oppose your organization’s KM implementation goals.
Briefly describe your company’s/organization’s culture (values, attitudes, and habits of behaviors, and thinking). Following the completion of this description, indicate the traits and behaviors that you believe support or oppose effective KM implementation from the organization’s leadership and employees. Pull from your own organization. [Think about your attitude toward change.] Support your argument with literature from the readings.
