Discuss the following statement: “… policy discussions remain framed by the goal of sustainability. This adherence to sustainability ignores the fact that the concept has failed to meaningfully change the human behaviour that created the Anthropocene” (Benson and Craig, 2014: 778).

You are expected to first review the literature around the statement, and then to set out your position, theoretically.
The Concluding discussion must contemplate the theoretical implications of what your position entails. As part of your discussion, consider the strengths and weaknesses of the academic debates that you have addressed at the beginning of your essay. You also may want to contemplate what key research questions consequently have emerged from your critical reflection of the above statement by Benson and Craig.
