MLA Essay Prompt:
Analyze how nation states/organizations from history (or modern day) increase their power of control over citizens.
Your task is to research nation states or organizations (use only JSTOR, ABC-Clio, and in-class material/textbooks) and how they maintain power. During this process you will begin to find similarities and differences among various time periods and/or places.
You are to aim for an essay that is 5-6 paragraphs. Each ‘theme’ that you choose to research should have at least 2 sources used as evidence (for a total of at least 6).
This will be similar to how you use evidence in a DBQ, however, the sources will be found on JSTOR or from in-class sources. This will be an MLA essay and needs to include a proper works cited page and in-text citations. We will discuss this in class and you can also see the resources on Canvas.
