Answer the following questions:
1. How did Millie’s mental illness affect her children?
2. Discuss the degree of “insight” or “understanding” each family member (Susan, Tina, Millie’s ex-husband Alan, Millie herself) had into Millie’s illness and treatment?
3. Do you think Millie would have reached this level of functionality without her family? Why or why not?
4. Based on your Introduction to Mental Health readings below, what issues face persons with severe mental illness such as Millie?
