Analyzing the United States Federal Reserve System
The assignment is:
Analyze a segment of the National Economy. This could include the Federal Reserve, the banking system, or the current federal government fiscal situation.
This analysis should include an accurate description of the segment, an analysis of the current conditions of this segment, including policies that are now in place, and a conclusion that gives your own opinion of the effectiveness of this segment.
Are they serving the needs of the segment of the economy that pertains to them or not would be a good way to start your conclusion.
Your conclusion should also give recommendations for change, if your analysis shows that changes should be made.
Include Graphs which properly support your work will be expected.
You might look closely at the money supply that is under the control of the Fed. Remember, money is a commodity and can thus be analyzed like any other commodity. Look at the changes in money supply over the last few years.
