Informative Speech
For this assignment, you will submit your general and specific purpose statements, thesis statement and three main body points. This is the planning stage to prepare and organize your ideas in order to move to the outline.
Create the general and specific purpose statements first to decide what you want to do with the speech. Then create the thesis from the specific purpose statement.
You will have three main body points. For this your first main point must be History/Founding in order to give a background on the company.
Other points may be:
Departments
Products/Services
Programs
Fundraising
How they run
Employee Relations/Benefits
Anything specific to the company itself (i.e., Susan G. Koman organization’s Race for the Cure, St. Jude’s Up All Night event, McDonald’s menu or International menu items, U.S. Marshal’s most famous Marshal’s like Wyatt Earp, etc.)
DO NOT tell the audience how to get involved, or attempt to persuade in any manner for this speech. This is an informative speech, therefore we are just teaching about the company. Consider yourself a representative for this company, and you are telling the listeners about the company.
