Individually carry out your analysis, applying your framework*. Use it to assess Barkham Place, Waterman’s View and Hazebrouck Meadow individually, and as part of the overall masterplan for the Arborfield Green Garden Village.
Think about ‘place’ on its different levels, e.g. the place of the street, of Barkham Place, Waterman’s View and Hazebrouck Meadow, and of Arborfield Green (at the “garden village” level – as far as its master planned vision is concerned).
Be sure to evidence your observations of the quality, functionality and/or value of Arborfield Green/its individual housing developments, using the photo gallery as well as citing relevant policies / guidance uploaded to the Session 04 project folder on Blackboard.Individually pull together your analysis into 4 slides with a voice over narration, outlining how you went about the analysis and what you found.
Narrated slides should include an introduction/method of analysis (slide 1), an illustration of your analysis, evidencing your observations (e.g. quotes, photos, diagrams (slides 2 and 3), and a summary of your analysis outcomes (slide 4).
Then, prepare a short 500-word critical reflection on your findings(with a list of references, and your ‘final analytical framework’ in appendix). Use the following question to guide your reflection:
Does the masterplan for the Arborfield Green Garden Village(and its developments at Barkham Place, Waterman’s View and Hazebrouck Meadow) sufficiently address the urban environmental and design challenges identified in the academic literature?
