Part A: Participation in social media activities (30% of the marks)
1. Look back at all the tweets you’ve made either on Twitter or on the TGF throughout B329, then select which you think are your ten most important tweets for your learning and professional practice and put them in a table in an appendix at the end of your EMA. See the guidance section for an example of how to do this. (15 marks)
2. Write a paragraph of no more than 500 words which reflects on your experience of writing about and engaging with leadership issues on Twitter and/or in the TGF
identifies one opportunity or positive aspect of practicing leadership using social networks identifies one threat or negative aspect of practicing leadership using social networks. (15 marks)
Part B: Reflection on the #B329LeadershipChallenge (30% of the marks)
Prepare an 800-word reflection on your participation in the #B329LeadershipChallenge. This reflection should use the critical-thinking skills described in Week 1, Section 4. You should write about the following:
1. your chosen leadership challenge in response to #B329LeadershipChallenge and why you chose it
2. the process behind the development of the call to action, clarifying if you worked on your own or in a group of students, and why you chose this approach
3. your call to action and the response it attracted
4. what you would do differently and why
5. put your call to action in an appendix at the end of your EMA. See the guidance section for information on how to do this.
Part C: Evaluation of a leadership approach (40% of the marks)
Write a 1200-word report evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of one of the approaches to leadership as practice described in Block 3 (place-based, resistance, activist leadership or leadership for social change).
Your focus should be on the strengths and weaknesses of putting this approach into practice and you can draw on examples from the block, from the Leadership Challenge or from your wider experience.
The report must include the following:
1. a brief description of the approach you chose and why you chose it
2. your assessment of the strengths of the approach when put into practice, illustrating these strengths with examples
3. your assessment of the weaknesses of the approach when put into practice, illustrating these weaknesses with examples
4. your ideas of what other B329 approaches or concepts might complement this approach or address its weaknesses.
5. put your call to action in an appendix at the end of your EMA. See the guidance section for information on how to do this.
Your report must also have a statement concluding whether you consider the strengths outweigh the weaknesses of the approach or whether the weaknesses outweigh the strengths
