Name of Company and Ticker Symbol: Company name, ticker symbol
10-K Report: Paste the direct URL to the company’s most recent 10-K Report
Company Website: Paste the URL to the company’s website
Company Business Model: This section should address the following:
Segment Data: Use a bulleted format to list the company’s segments/product lines and the percent each segment contributes to sales/revenues. Segment data should be reported in percentage terms. Note: You may need to convert dollar data to percentages. Remember to check that the percentage for all segments combined is 100 percent.
Review of Significant Events: List key events from the last five years, such as acquisitions, divestitures, new products and/or markets, and changes in management. Look for a timeline or history on the company’s website to get started.
Top 5 Risks: Review Item 1A in the 10-K report to identify what you consider to be the company’s top 5 risks. Try to select risks that are unique to the company’s industry rather than selecting risks that affect all businesses, to some degree or another.
Evaluation: Share what we learn from the data and information collected for this discussion. Using the information you have collected so far, comment on the company’s business model.
What do we learn from the segment data? Anything surprising or concerning in there?
What do we learn about the company from examining those significant events?
What do we learn from the key risks, and do we see signs the company is actively seeking to address them?
Identify and discuss any strengths and/or concerns. Sufficiently examining the data and information collected will likely require at least 250 words.
