PART 2: For this part of the assignment, you need to write an essay of 2500-3000 words. The structure for the essay is given below.

Start the introduction with the importance of providing quality care for all in the UK based on NHS creation and principles of welfare society.
Then highlight the main points of topics that would be explored within the essay.
Paragraph 1: 550 words
Define a Welfare society or Welfare State (in text citation)
Cover the origin of welfare society and refer to the Poor Law (1601 & 1834), Alms-houses and the Beveridge report (1946).
Next link the Beveridge report to the creation of the NHS with the aim of providing care for all – mention the 3 founding NHS principles in 1948.

Write a brief description of the NHS Constitution. Then compare NHS principles (1948) with NHS Constitution principles (2009).
Next in this paragraph focus on discussing the 5th Principle of the NHS Constitution – NHS working in partnership with other organisations. In your discussion, you need to include the following:
Definition of Partnership.
An example of working in partnership within health care sector.
Benefits and Barriers of working in partnership.
Paragraph 3: 550 words
The NHS Constitution also emphasizes on providing quality care (3rd principle) which is another example of current practice known as Evidence Based Practice. This paragraph should include
A Definition of Evidence Based Practice (EBP)
History of EBP
One example of application in either Midwifery, Nursing or Mental Health Nursing
Advantages and Disadvantages of using EBP. Also mention briefly EBP and its use in the NICE guidelines.

Paragraph 4: 550 words
In this paragraph, you need to cover the following topics:
Describe the NHS core values and also refer to 6Cs. Explain one or two- mention all.
Define Accountability as an important Core Value
Define Confidentiality as another important Core Value. Also refer to one act of legislation related to confidentiality as well as the NMC code of conduct.

Define Ethics and provide information on the 4 principles of biomedical ethics.
