Critically discuss the extent to which empirical evidence supports viewpoint-independent (also referred to as viewpoint-invariant) theories of object recognition, such as Biederman’s ‘Recognition by Components’ theory (1987).

In critically discussing the empirical evidence it will be necessary to in the main base the analysis and discussion on primary sources.
