The main body of the poster should include relevant headings such as Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods/Experimental Procedures, Results, Discussion, References and Acknowledgements.
Specific Guidelines for Content
Title:
Just use the existing title
Abstract (maximum 250 words)
Sometimes best to complete at the end
Summarizes the entire study and its relevance
Introduction
• A review of the background theories and findings which are directly relevant to the problem under investigation
• A description of the specific problem under investigation, together with the rationale for the current study (the links between the background and the current study)
• The experimental hypothesis or aims and objectives of the study as appropriate
• Cite the source of all your points in the way described in sections 1.3 (part v) and 10.1 of the AWiP guide.
Methods Section

• Results of Analyses
Discussion Section
• Interpretation of Results
Figures:
• Figures should not replace text content, but rather represent stimuli or experimental parameters in a visual format that is easily accessible to the reader.
• Figures can be in colour or black and white and should be labelled with appropriate numbers and captions (see AWiP for formatting guidelines)
• Use of diagrams to illustrate methods/procedures is encouraged, especially where this reduces the text. It is recommended that no more than six figures or tables are displayed, that graphs contain no more than three curves and tables no more than 30 values.
References Section
• In the text of the report, you must always acknowledge the sources of the ideas and the previous research that you discuss.
• In the References section, you must give full details of your sources. You can reference a maximum of 10 citations.
• Thus, all materials cited in the text must appear in the References section, and conversely, each entry in the References section must have been cited in the text.
• The references must be given in the BPS style detailed in section 10 of AWiP.
You will be marked on:
• Overall presentation and adherence to guidelines
• Ability to summarise the paper concisely and accurately
• Overall understanding and critical evaluation, as demonstrated in the poster itself.
• Clarity of expression
