Consider the 2 learning objectives and then conduct independent research related to the learning objectives to identify a case or recent news article (material from the most recent five years is sufficient) as the subject of the journal entry. Use a reliable database for obtaining information, such as scholar.google.com, or a database like ProQuest or Lexis.
Each journal entry should be one full page, and include the following information from your research:
1. The learning objective that is the start of your independent research.
2. A summary of the article or case you researched that identifies the key facts and
legal issue presented in the material.
3. The impact of your research on your understanding of the learning objective.
4. A citation to the material. For a case, you may copy the citation from the heading in
Google Scholar. For research using a library database, you can copy the citation from
the database and paste it into your journal entry.
