sexual harassment research paper
Transition little research has looked at how gender of participant can impact perceptions of SH depending on gender of victim
Purpose:To investigate gender differences in perceptions of sexual harassment considering both male and female victims.
Hypotheses:
H1: Comparing the two scenarios, we expect the scenarios with male perpetrators and female victims (MPFV) will be viewed as more severely harassing than similar scenarios with male perpetrators and male victims (MPMV).
Ratings of scenarios with female victim > Ratings of scenarios with male victim
H2: Compared to males, females will view scenarios depicting sexual harassment as more severely harassing.
H3: Predict that both the female participants and the male participants will view scenarios involving male perpetrators and female victims (MPFV) as more severely harassing than similar scenarios involving male perpetrators and male victims (MPMV).
For female participants: Ratings of MPFV scenarios > ratings of MPMV scenarios
For male participants: Ratings of MPFV scenarios > ratings of MPMV scenarios
