In preparing the paper, you will be expected to address the following:
Which model resonated most with you based upon your own values and beliefs as well as your experience with mental health and mental illness this quarter.
How would you approach therapeutic communication using a recovery-centered approach.
Consider how an awareness of cultural differences as well as social justice considerations and equity, diversity and inclusion would impact your communication.
Consider what you learned in the materials you reviewed and additional reading of articles and include references as appropriate.
How has your view of individuals with mental health issues and mental health nursing changed over the quarter?
How does the recovery model relate to the core values of Seattle University and the College of Nursing specifically in relation to social justice and care for the whole person?
How is a recovery approach to the condition or area considered different than a more traditional approach?
Consider the bias or stereotype about individuals with mental health challenges that you shared at the start of the quarter.
How has your perspective changed, particularly in the context of your reflection on the recovery approach to mental health?
How will what you have learned impact your future nursing practice when working with individuals with mental health challenges regardless of the setting in which you work?
