Create a functional, legible and meaningful place, reflecting the objectives of the masterplan/ structure plan and addressing key issues identified during previous assignments.

 Integrated Plan Making

Introduction
Each student will develop a design concept for a component (area) of the master plan submitted in Assessment 2. You will work off the plan produced for Assignment 2 and, individually, develop detailed design for an area assigned to you.

The assignment requires translating the set of objectives and design considerations (prepared for Assignment 2) into an more detailed development plan proposal.

The proposed plan/design should address critical issues and aspirations identified during previous assignments. The goal of this exercise is for every group member to take on a specific area and test further opportunities and refine the outcome of the assessment 2 masterplan.

Your Development design plan will present the land form outcome and revised land use allocations where needed to respond to the identified objectives and design strategies (ass 2). You will refine the nature and layout of various components, their connections and interfaces.

The aim is to create a functional, legible and meaningful place, reflecting the objectives of the masterplan/ structure plan and addressing key issues identified during previous assignments.

Your plan should strive to incorporate the main aspirations and planning objectives drafted in Assignment 2.

Assessment 3Development Design Plan

The project includes individual work. Still, it is also marked in relation to the response to adjacent areas; so communication between teams members is fundamental.

The presentation will be one as a group, with a representation of the overall masterplan followed with each member presenting his/her area of study.

Brief

Each student will need to take on an area of the masterplan that includes build form (Residential and/or mixed use) and work toward its refinement.

You are asked to test the opportunities within your assigned area in relation to the vision generated as a group.

This include work on the built form and test setback heights, as well as building functions/typologies, effectively delivering a Local

Development Plan.

You are asked to submit a report that show the progress work toward the design of your area and explains the decision making processes.

In articulating and testing opportunities you need to clearly articulate the design principles, including:
Urban Elements
Guiding Principles
Design & Function
Land use
Amenities
Sustainability Principles

In carry on this exercise you can revise the densities identified for the area when conducting the group work, identify final setbacks of buildings and heights

The assignment is individual however, requires group coordination to make sure that overall masterplan is refined and coherent after everyone considerations and
specifications is implemented .

Create a functional, legible and meaningful place, reflecting the objectives of the masterplan/ structure plan and addressing key issues identified during previous assignments.
