Federalism Paper
Write a paper about one of the most contentious, even to this day, aspects of American public life that is, the appropriate balance between Federal and State power. This argument is a very old one and does not just go back to the beginning, but in many ways to be BEFORE the beginning.
After the writing of a new Constitution in 1787, which resulted from the failure of the Articles of Confederation, many thought that it would address and solve a certain set of existing problems (Federalists). Many others believed it would allocate far too much power to the Central Government at the expense of the States (anti-Federalists).
What to do are the following
FIRST, Read Hamilton’s Federalist Paper Number 15 and Patrick Henry’s Anti-Federalist speech, both of which are in the module below this assignment.
SECOND, after reading these two points of view, argue which one you think is right and why. That is correct, you must choose and articulate a side. It should also be noted the public is nearly as narrowly divided today as it was then.
Same as before, 2 pages, 12 pt font, one inch margins, written to MLA standards you learned in English One.
