Major theories of Personality.
Personality is the dynamic organization in a person’s psychophysical system that is responsible for persons’ characteristics. The characteristics join up to form with various features that make up a person’s behavior. Every person has a unique character that identifies him or her.
However, nature plays a vital role in a person’s character. Some characteristics may be common with a group of people, but the environment may present different characters in people.
Trait theories and state theories have different perspectives; trait theory is biologically based whereas state theories depend highly on the environment(Wiggins, 1996).
