You are the Director of Commercial and Aviation Development at Darwin International Airport. The CEO has asked you to review the data and research briefing provided and prepare a report providing an interpretation of these findings.

Using the knowledge, you have gained in this course, consider the data and present a report which provides: an executive summary; an introduction (including purpose of the research); a literature review; a description of the research methodology and methods used; an analysis of the findings; a conclusion; and three (3) key recommendations to address the issues discussed in the analysis.

As such, the intent of this exercise (and this assignment) is to test your abilities to: 1) analyze the data available; 2) consider the key research elements (i.e., research questions, methodology, literature review, discussion of findings and research recommendations); and 3) prepare a research report presenting the findings of the study.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the air transport industry including airport management. Since 2020, associated data has been limited to public view as businesses try to cope with the ramifications of travel restrictions.

While the data set you are reviewing is from 2016-2017 period, remember that the key intent is to develop your analytical and writing skills which translate across all time periods. Never-the-less, feel free to integrate comments into your report (with appropriate references), which consider potential solutions for airport managers in a COVID-recovery era.
