In the PBS special The Facebook Dilemma, there is evidence presented that in its aim to connect the world through technology, Facebook has created many more problems than it could have imagined.
Many are of great consequence to individuals and other problems threaten peace and harmony in civil society. Identify at least two ways, as documented in the film, that you find evidence of significant data protection issues and their impact.
Then give examples of how Facebook has succeeded, OR NOT, in fixing those problems. Also, identify at least one global incident in which Facebook was used to catalyze ethnic cleansing or violent protests.
Has Facebook accepted any responsibility for any of the negative impact of its product on peace and harmony among foreign nationals and U.S. citizens that use it? Give specific examples from the films.
