When it comes to today’s world, traveling has advanced leading to so many more opportunities to get away from home and enjoy yourself. In particular, there is one time I traveled that really stands out to me. I was just seven years old when I went on my first stay away from home and this was an unforgettable experience. This experience was compacted with my family and meeting so many new people along the journey. Although I was young, I was still interacting with many other people besides my loved ones. This trip made me value how important it is to get away from home and have a fun journey somewhere else for a period of time. When going on this trip I appreciated the kindness and richness throughout the enjoyable time. Traveling has many benefits and it’s not just the luxury form of having fun, it’s also the compactness of personal growth and connections with whom you travel with.
As an athlete, I am always traveling throughout my life whether it be for a vacation or not. However, one vacation that stands out to me most was when I was seven years old and traveled to Florida. It was during a time early in April when my family decided to go to Florida, two weeks later, I was there. I was beyond excited to enjoy my time in Florida as I had always wanted to go to disney and spend time with my family. On this vacation, I saw so many things down the road that it just wasn't possible to be upset nor in a bad mood. I was always happy in Florida and getting away from home just brings a better sight to my life. Little did I know that to this day, this vacation is laying at the top of my list. This vacation was filled with fun activities which all made this unforgettable. Disney, the happiest place on earth, treated me so great, I'll never forget it.
As I arrived in Florida after a twenty four hour car ride, I was just excited to see the delightful view and such warm weather. During my earlier childhood, I always wondered what other areas of the country, even the nation were like. I arrived around two in the afternoon and went straight into the pool at the hotel we stayed at. After almost two hours in the pool, my mom said it was time to go out to eat. I had to dress up. I never expected to be at such a fancy restaurant and it's an amazing experience as you don’t have that opportunity often. I had such a great sense of tradition and excitement. Getting away from home just brings joy to my life as I am not a person who likes to be in areas that aren’t hot or with a beach. After dinner that night, I went to bed in such an amazing mood and felt so excited to go to disney the next morning.
When I woke up, it was already time to make my dream come true. As I walked through the gates of Disney World, I was excited with the thrilling rides I saw as well as the other kids in such enjoyment. I was at disney and can’t explain how much fun I’ve had in words. Going here could solve all my problems. After being in Florida for just two days, it made me value how fortunate myself and family are to be in this position. It was such an amazing experience doing this and once again, I will never forget it. I just remember seeing so many other kids around the same age as me, with just an amount of joy. It was almost like I was with my new classmates, but at disney. I remember my mom asking “did you have fun” and I almost didn’t even know how to answer as the fun I had was indescribable. Going to disney after wanting to for my entire life is a dream coming true. Besides that, I was grateful and thankful to be able to be there.
To this day, since this event I have made efforts to be more open minded, grateful and appreciate all of these vast opportunities that come my way. The trip to Florida has a long lasting impact on my life. I always wonder if I will go back there after being there so many times throughout my childhood although, not a single one of them didn’t I enjoy. On the vacation I created so many new memories when trying new activities such as swimming with different animals and going on a jet ski for the first time ever with my father. I hope to continue to make new memories throughout the years to come. Each visit to disney is just as exciting as the first one I’ve ever had. Getting away from home is very relaxing and offers endless opportunities for enjoyment. This travel allowed me to bond with my family and overall, strengthen our relationship with each other.
Going on this vacation made me realize how lucky I was to be in that position. This experience has made me wonder what more and better a vacation could possibly get. I was never so happy in my life. Going on an extended time away from home allows us to be at peace and many should take the opportunity if they're in a situation where they are able to. I will continue to learn more about traveling and engage in different opportunities and conversations that come up along the way. By doing so, I can create more knowledge on where I may end up next whether it be a vacation, something for sports, or even where I live for the rest of my life. Since that event, I have made many memories as well as an effort to be more thankful for how wealthy my family was. I’ve started researching and so many different ways of learning about different areas of the world and where I would want to travel next. Traveling provides opportunities to learn about other arenas, meet new people, and gain a different perspective on life.
