The purpose of this final reflection is to
Illustrate your understanding of the competencies in this module;
Evaluate your own mastery of these skills by honestly discussing your strengths and weaknesses for each;
Make plans for future development in these areas;
Formulate an approach for persuading a potential employer that you learned some valuable skills in the EI Module, and that your ongoing development of these skills will make you a valuable employee.
Instructions
In a minimum of 600 words, write a reflection that addresses all of the following. Write as if you were writing to a potential employer. Don’t assume this person knows anything about what you learned. Define terms and be specific. Note the weighting of the various components?
When discussing strengths and weaknesses, refer to the specific sub-competencies and give examples.
Identify and define the four components of emotional intelligence and rate yourself in each. For each component, give examples you would be willing to share in a public context. Be sure to give yourself a rating in each of the four components. (10 points each)
Based on the strengths and weaknesses you described above, discuss your plans for improving in each of the four areas. (20 points if each of the four competencies is discussed)
Discuss how emotional intelligence applies to your success in college. In addition, describe how you would express to a potential employer what you learned in this EI course, and how your ongoing development of these skills will make you a valuable employee. (20 points if academic and professional components are discussed)
