Microbiology Assignment
Your assignment: Spend some time outdoors and find evidence(sights, smells) of microbial activity in our environment. Note: you might not see the microbes themselves, but use your knowledge of where microbes are found, what types of microbes would typically be found in that environment, and what roles are those microbes playing in that environment (good or bad).
Record your observations with images and descriptions.
You must find 10 examples of evidence of microbes/microbial activity found in nature.
Note: up to 3 of your observations may take place in your home, but most should be from natural outdoor areas.
Write at least 2 paragraphs about each (include background information that you know as well as information you look up).
Include at least one picture (taken by you) for each of your 10 observations (label each picture with the description it goes with).
You may use other images of the microbes you have found evidence for- if you do be sure to credit the source. These images do NOT replace your own pictures that must be included.
You should include different types of microbes: (bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa)
Your report should include a reference list for where you obtained your background information.
