This week the focus is on trends—trends that could impact in either a positive or negative manner the successfulness of the curriculum you have developed. There are numerous trends within healthcare!
Each trend has the potential to impact both the academic and the nurse professional development practice settings.
For our discussion, the following healthcare trends are identified.
Expansion of virtual technology (i.e., telehealth) to improve self-care and healthcare outcomes
Shifting healthcare to the community and home settings
Extension of mental and behavioral health services
Modification of traditional direct patient care learning activities by employing technology
Carefully consider and respond to each of the following topics:

Nurse professional development
Reflecting upon the curriculum plan you developed in Week 6, address two of the four trends noted above by responding to each of the following:
