Cybercrime and Security
Write an 8-10 page double-spaced paper on cybercrime and security.
Specifically, identify a cybercrime (e.g., ransomware attack, DDoS attack, etc.) that has transpired in the real world.
Explain what happened in the attack by describing why this attack transpired on both a theoretical and policy level. Then, depending on the cybercrime (who it involved- an individual, agency, etc.), provide a cyber-security action plan for federal, state, and/or local criminal justice agencies to pursue in response to the crime. Include evidence-based recommendations backed by outside research and class readings. You should have at least 8 scholarly sources present throughout your final assignment/paper.
You also need to incorporate policy into your paper. Investigate the current policies related to your topic. In order to achieve this, investigate the federal, state, and local state statutes and policies related to your specific cybercrime, such as DDoS.
The cybercrime event to analyze is the attack on the standard spirit health system that took place in October 2022.
