This week’s discussion talks about how quality research study assessment concentrates on the theories of reliability and validity which help determine how well a method can measure a phenomenon. In addition, validity can contain the measurement of precision by determining how correctly and specifically a measurement method is able to meet anticipations. Whereas, reliability can be described as a reliable source of the method to measure an occurrence based on how well is its consistency and steadiness (Ahmed, Ishtiaq, 2021). In addition, according to my research proposal, reliability and validity can be used to determine the efficiency of the strategies to plan early advanced care planning. In addition, the accuracy of the results obtained is a major challenge for research proposals seeking at solving real-life problems (Ahmed, Ishtiaq, 2021). Furthermore, accurate and precise results help to draw deductions and proposals which are considered to be practical as it is necessary to be able to understand the difference between validity and reliability (Ahmed, Ishtiaq, 2021). Additionally, enhancing tools or techniques, and procedures can be helpful in managing issues during research. In addition, developing and designing a research proposal based on tools and research groups helps improve its credibility and validity. Furthermore, correct statistical analysis and controlled variables even escalate the viscosity of the study.

Tappen(2015) states reliability and validity are the two primary aspects of the quality of quantitative research measures. For reliability, a measure they talk about is repeatability, as in if they use the same situation, or two people use the same measure in different stations will they get the same result. A concern in reliability if your data can continuously be the same and reliable. (p.139)
Tappen(2015) states validity is the extent to which the measure you use is true to its intended purpose. As lets say when measuring anxiety Tappen (2015) uses examples of the state or trait, not stress or depression. (p.155) The goal is to be accurate and true to the purpose of the research.
For my research, I will be mainly using quantitative data. My issues in research will be retrieving data and making sure the data is reliable. I can overcome this using reliable resources like the NIH, CDC and ADA.

Sampling is very crucial in a research project. According to Singh, “sampling helps a lot in research projects, and it is one of the most importance factors which determines the accuracy of your research” (2018). Sampling requires me to pick a group of people where I will be obtaining my data and information from, they are basically my test subjects (McCombes, 2022). When research choose a sample, they must be particulate and decide who should be in the study and who should not actually test out the research. There are many sampling methods that be used for a research project, but the sampling method that I will chose for my research will be the probability sampling. According to Tappen, probability sampling is the decision where we will be able to conclude the result will show a difference between, he studies, and it is not up to chance or bias (2015, p. 118). This fits perfectly for my research because as I will be testing which method of intervention is useful for a patient with a-fib, a probability sampling will determine a unbias result. MY sample size would probably be up to 6 people to full be have a control and test subject for a medication intervention and a cardiac procedure intervention.

The sampling method I would use is probability sampling. Tappen(2015) state probability sampling is “given a specified population from which the sample is drawn, being chosen to be in the research study is by chance. Another way to say this is that every possible combination of potential subjects has an equal chance of occurring” (p. 119) I will be using this method, as I do not know the exact amount of people the type 2 diabetes, or how many people will be willing to participate in lifestyle changes.
My sampling size will be adults 18 and older with type 2 diabetes, as people under 18 maybe not have as many opportunities or resources to be able to make lifestyle changes.
Currently, I do not have an exact sample size number.
