In today’s world, the methods that teams use to complete work and managerial approaches to managing teams are changing at a fast rate. These changes are largely due to the increase in remote and virtual employees. Over the span of ten weeks, the team researched specific topics that have a large impact on leadership effectiveness. Those topics include the application of leadership principles, emotional intelligence, power; politics; organizational growth, continued learning in organizations, ethical negotiation, conflict management, team building, cross-cultural communication, coaching, and decision-making. The goal in conducting this research was to create a manual that outlines methods for future leaders to use that can assist in building strong, healthy teams. Through this process, each of them learned and grew in their understanding of leadership and how to manage teams. To document this growth, they have included personal statements at the end of this manual cataloging the personal experiences and insights. Their hope with this manual is future leaders can use the technical tips and strategies called out to combat common obstacles that leaders face and help leaders navigate leading their teams through innovation and change.
