For the final project, use Aristotle’s definition of a tragedy to prove or disprove that Macbeth fits the category of a true tragedy.

Submit the final project in the form of an essay or presentation.

Use the following directions to successfully complete the project:

1. The project length will depend on how the student chooses to format the information.

2. Use PowerPoint for presentations.

3. The information on each slide should be a well-developed paragraph .

4. Each characteristic of Aristotle’s tragedy will serve as the topic sentence for each paragraph (Plot, Character, Thought, Diction, Song, Spectacle, Catharsis).

5. Each topic sentence (element of a tragedy) must then be supported by cited evidence from the text.

6. Each paragraph must include an analysis that shows how the evidence fully supports the topic sentence.

7. If completing a presentation, each slide must have an image that corresponds to the epic characteristic and include other creative elements.

8. Essay must be in MLA format.

9. Include an MLA Works Cited slide for presentations. List sources of images, quotes, and information.
