DP8 Global Strategy
Write an OE (Original Example) based on the module on Global Strategy.
It must be based upon one of the following three options:
1. A current event that has occurred within the last six months that you have read in a newspaper or watched on a news report (be sure to note the news outlet, i.e. Wall Street Journal, MSNBC). Please provide the link to the article or newscast where possible.
2. A situation you (or someone you know) have experienced in your own work-related or personal international travels or an organizational setting (such as your workplace, student club, volunteer group, etc.)
3. A book, short story, song, comic strip, play (or scene from one), movie (or scene from one), or television program (or episode of one) An OE will be scored according to its relevance to the identified course concept(s) and its insightfulness. An OE that is not sufficiently relevant or insightful, or one whose question(s) is/are meaningless and/or do(es) not follow directly from the rest of it, will earn fewer than two points, as will a sloppy (incoherent and unedited) one.
Realize that the article should be a current news item rather than writings directly about the topic in the course that you are discussing. The idea is to apply the concepts to a real-world situation that is currently occurring. Another option for OEs is to apply the concepts to a situation in your own life or that you are aware of in someone else’s life.
Lastly, you can relate the concept to a movie, book, tv show, etc.
