According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s projections, more than half of the children born in the United States will belong to a minority race or ethnic group by the year of 2020. Diversity is present in the professional workforce and the patient population. These changing demographics highlight the importance of cultural diversity in a health care profession in which the patient-provider relationship is key to determining the quality of care. It is imperative that health care professionals be diverse, well educated, and culturally sensitive to the patients that they serve. Strategic human resources (HR) management is a process of formulating and implementing HR strategies that are aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and business strategy.
Take on the role of the HR director in a community hospital in a metro area.
In your initial post,
Propose at least three HR practices or strategies with an emphasis on patient-provider relationship to help your organization achieve competitive advantage in diversity and inclusion.
Support your response with a minimum of two scholarly sources that were published in the last 5 years. All sources must be cited using proper APA Style.
