Write a case study using methods of comparative politics to analyze the liberalization/decriminalization of drugs in Portugal and the Czech Republic.
This research assignment permits the student explores a potential research project by examining data about variables in two countries over a 15-year time period.
The project will examine changes over time a single “thick” dependent variable in two cases and in the conclusion develop one or two possible hypotheses (which involves identifying 1-2 prospective independent variables for a future research project).
The goal is not to compare the two countries explicitly but examine how the variable in question has changed over time in each case. The work should be 5-pages double spaced in a pt 12-font, excluding bibliography (cited reference list). The paper should make use of at least 10 articles or books and properly cite them with APA in-text citations in a Works Cited section using APA. APA citations should be used throughout (Author, date) and direct quote (Author, date, p. 4).
