Written over family rights, including child abuse, etc. Students are expected to prepare one small research paper during Unit 5 that is 4-6 pages in body.
The paper should cite no less than four academic sources.

Provide a general overview of issue, problem, or challenge from several reliable sources. (Discovering)
Respond to various points of the issue, problem, or challenge. This could be achieved by focusing on 2-3 key factors involved in the main issue or challenge and conveying the ideas well in writing. (Engaging)
Analyze cultural context of the issue. Also include your own internal self- reflection on an issue, problem, or challenge. Students are permitted to use first person language. (Analyzing)
Evaluate strategies for addressing the issue at several levels. Can anything be done globally? Nationally? Locally? What about with you personally? (Evaluating)
Conclusion with summary of the key points of paper and any closing thoughts.
Cite a minimum of four sources.
Be mindful that during Unit 6, students will create a power point covering both the key points from their papers as well as possible interventions or agencies that already intervene related to their issue of choice.
