10.1 File Metadata Exercise
10.2 – Code Signing Certificate Exercise – use WireShark download, not Notepad++
Windows Users:
download another copy of Wireshark from Wireshark.org
find your download of Wireshark-win64-4.0.1.exe
follow this exercise’s steps (1, 2, 3, 4) against Wireshark-win64-4.0.1.exe
MacOS Users:
download another copy of Wireshark from Wireshark.org
find your download of Wireshark-win64-4.0.1.exe, located in “downloads” folder
double-click “Wireshark 4.0.1 arm 64.dmg” or “Wireshark 4.0.1 Arm 64.dmg”
you may already have downloaded Wireshark, so you will not see the “Wireshark.pkg” file
Use the “Install ChmodBPF.pkg”
Open the .pkg file.
Click the lock icon or certificate icon in the upper-right corner of the installer window to see information about the certificate.
Select “Apple Software Update Certificate Authority.” The certificate has a green checkmark indicating that the certificate is valid.
Click the arrow next to the word Details to see more information about the certificate.
Scroll to the bottom of the Details section to see the SHA-256 fingerprint.
