The next module will cover what historian Rayford Logan calls the “Nadir” in Race relations, which will look into the extreme racism between 1880-1920 and the progress of African American during this period.
Read Franklin and Higginbotham, Chapters 10-11 SUBMIT ASSIGNMENTS:
In two to three pages, provide a combined summary of chapter 10 and 11. As part of the summary explain some the main factors that led to the start of American Civil War as well as the rise and fall of the Reconstruction period.
After reading about Abraham Lincolns policies and attitude towards black people during civil war, do you think he deserved credit as “the Great Emancipator”? Why or why not?
