PHOTOGRAPH
Objective: Introduction and understanding the artistic process. Develop creative thinking skills.
Problem: Create a surreal photograph by introducing a cut out paper silhouette into the frame that complements or interacts with the surroundings.
Goal: 1 successful dynamic photograph.
Research photographs by Rick McCor for examples and inspiration – DO NOT COPY his work
Directions:
Take pictures of several areas on campus or other interesting local places. Think about how you can use light, composition, balance, emphasis, directional forces, and other concepts to create interesting photographs.
Draw, sketch, plan out possible solutions. (Print, mark up…)
Cut out silhouettes that could work within those chosen locations.
Retake photo placing the silhouette within the frame and the composition
Upload final image to Photo Silhouette assignment in the Art Project module in Canvas (Art Project grade)
Post at least 2 image in the Photo Silhouette Discussions in Canvas and comment on at least 1 other image posted using art vocabulary. (In-class activity grade)

Black Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Camera
