Read Chapters 1,6,7,9-11 of the documents and answer the following questions
As indicated by its subtitle, Mazower’s Dark Continent offers a history of “Europe’s Twentieth Century.” Like all histories, Mazower’s account is not simply a telling of names, dates, and facts, but advances a particular argument with respect to 20th Century European history.
Write an essay in which you do two things:
a) identify Mazower’s main argument;
b) evaluate it. Do you agree or disagree with Mazower’s “alternative” history of Europe in the 20th century? What evidence—or lack thereof—does Mazower present which leads you to supporting or disagreeing with his claims?
