Sociology Projects: Infomercial
Task:
Create an infomercial using a multimedia tool. Examples of multimedia presentation tool include the following:
· VOKI speaking avatars,
· Prezi Presentations, Voice Thread collaborative multimedia slide shows,
· Digital StoryTeller movies
· Glogster , interactive posters, websites
Create a 15 min. to 20min. infomercial on the significance of the discipline of Sociology to the Social Sciences. In addition to discussing the significance to the social sciences students should provide detail on the relativity of the term, topic or theorist.
Consider these ideas for discussion, pick one.
Discussion of Paradigm and their relevance to the sociological imagination.
Important concepts in Sociology, for example: Gender, Institutions, Race and Ethnicity, Relativity of Deviance, Social Change, Sexual Orientation, and Crime.
Sociological research, Qualitative, Quantitative, Mixed Method, and Research designs: Experiment, Participant Observation, and Surveys.
Pioneers in Sociology, Classical and contemporary.

Key contributions to the social sciences
Discussion of Gender, Race, Stratification, Deviance, Crime, Poverty, etc.
Tie in a picture and or a visual of themselves in the infomercial, Mandatory!
Implement at least four references in their infomercials: Bar charts, graphs, histograms, YouTube, Music, etc…Cite references for infomercial, within the infomercial presentation, Mandatory!!!
