Include the development of an innovative solution to a social/environmental challenge following the innovation process and design thinking approach. The potential solution may include an innovative product, service, process, procedure or technology.
Also have some proposals on the subject of the challenge and innovation idea beforehand within the writer’s comfort zone.

The reflective journal should chart your reflections and reactions as the individual innovation process progresses. Illustrate the theoretical and practical interconnection, the evolution of your knowledge development, and the rationale for making decisions.
The reflective journal should capture what caused you to learn, innovate and change during the innovation process following the Design Thinking approach. The reflective journal assessment should consider the depth of learning and the journey that will be described.
Include a theoretical base for arguments and should be referenced in a regular academic manner.
