You will submit a paper researching a type of counselor you are interested in. You may choose from the following list:
Career/Guidance Counselor
Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT)
Marriage, Family and Child Counselor (MFCC)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Child Psychologist
School Counselor (K-12)
School Psychologist
College Counselor
Specializations may include EOPS, DSPS, Athletics
Rehabilitation Counselor
Substance Abuse Counselor
Pastoral Counselor

In an effort to better understand yourself, your motivations, interests, and influencers, you will research a counseling profession and write an essay that helps to develop a better understand of your own career development.
You may want to consider interviewing an individual working in the position you chose. Interviewing a subject is not required, but can be a helpful way to learn more about the type of counselor you are interested in (and can be used as one of your required 3 sources).
