Portfolio 1 (500 words)
Research a particular industry (Pharmaceutical) and consider how big data has affected them? Write up a summary of your findings and some key elements that are of particular interest. Answer the following questions within your e-Portfolio page
How has the organisation utilised big data?
What impact has it had on them?
What potential impact could there be in the future
Examine the challenges of pharmaceutical industry would face in effectively using big data.

Selecting one of the following methods of data visualisation conduct some research into the use and application of that method and where it is most appropriate to be used:
Infographics
Dashboards
Newsletters
Reports
Charts
Maps
Consider when they would be used and the main features of that method. Consider how an interactive version of the method may work, or what impact that would have. Consider which style of data visualisation the pharmaceutical industry would most likely use and in what context (please choose at least 2 methods). Perhaps they would use a range for different purposes. How might they use them in their everyday running?

Considering the techniques and principles of big data analysis covered in discussion 5 and relate them to Shionogi in your e-portfolio and reflect on their data and business needs. Which techniques are most appropriate for Shionogi and why (just make it up)?
Critically evaluate the techniques and relate their purpose and use to Shionogi. What impact would be using the technique have on the organisation? Write up your reflection in your e-portfolio.

Thinking specifically of your organisation in question, critically analyse the ethical and legal issues of significance to them? Write a reflection of the main areas you think will have impact and significance.

How will the GDPR affect them and their management of big data?
Ethically, do they have any grey areas that need to be addressed?
What impact could there be from not lawfully following the guidance?
