EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION
The scenario: You are working at a your “dream company” doing work that you are passionate about and love. Your boss recognizes that your work and attitude are representative of the company culture. Your boss selects you to develop and deliver a 5 to 6 minute presentation on the company’s organizational culture for the NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION.
Your boss requires you to provide PowerPoint slides to accompany your presentation at the New Employee Orientation.
Putting it all together: On the Job feature #1 introduces you to socialization to workplace culture, and Chapter 5 discusses the importance of obtaining important information about an organization’s culture during your job search and interviewing process.
For your long briefing, you will research, prepare, and deliver a 5-6 minute informative presentation about 2-3 aspects of your “selected or dream” organization’s culture. This should be an organization in which you can visualize yourself being employed after graduation (or obtaining an internship with while still in school).
REMEMBER, your audience is made up of new employees attending a new employee orientation. Once again, rely on the power of the “story” in your presentation.
