To present an academically rigorous and valid research proposal for a project suitable for completion as your dissertation.
Therefore, it should be ‘literature informed’ by credible sources and include evidence for any arguments, discussions or understandings that you present. The maximum word count is 3500. The paper should be in two parts.
1. In the first section, draw on a range of sources to propose and describe a marketing topic which might be valuably addressed in your dissertation. Rigorously develop the topic by drawing on scholarly marketing sources to critically discuss the reasons you have for choosing your research topic and framing it in the manner you describe.
Conclude this first section with a clear statement of the main goal for your project, sometimes called your primary research question (PRQ), and critically discuss its formulation and articulation.
2. In the second section, draw on the research methodology literature to critically discuss what methodological choices you intend to make to enable you to address the PRQ you have set in section 1.
You should include critical discussion which provides evidence that your choices combine in a valid methodology that will facilitate the successful completion of a dissertation project.
Note: you are NOT required to undertake any primary research (data collection and analysis) for this paper. That will be the task for your Dissertation, and it requires ethical consideration and approval.
