Periodontal status in cannabis smokers. A systematic review
ARTICLE REVIEW
The purpose of this assignment is to introduce you to the scientific literature related to periodontology by reviewing and writing a report on a published, peer-reviewed article.
Use the Lewis and Clark library as a resource in finding your article. Research articles in the literature will contain specific sections for ‘Methods,’ Results,’ and ‘Conclusions.’
Identifying an article that contains these sections will help make sure that you have found one that will meet the requirements. Also, your article needs to be current, with a publication date no more than two years old.
Your article needs to be selected, and approved, by week 5 of the semester in order to allow you adequate time to carefully read and report on it.
Your paper must be a minimum of two double-spaced pages.
In your paper you should introduce the topic of your journal article and briefly describe the research that was conducted and the conclusions that were made.
Taking time to answer the following questions may help give you some ideas as to how to do this:
Have any of the topics covered in class helped in your understanding of this article? If so, which ones.
Does this article give you more insight (or not) into topics that have been covered in class?
Are the conclusions reached in this article relevant to your practice as a dental hygienist? If so how? If not, why not?
How might the information in this article be relevant to your patients?
