The impact of technological advancements on education will surely alter the way students learn. Previously, studying was solely a book-and-board interaction between student and teacher. Whereas with the former approaches, blackboards have been substituted with projectors inside classrooms, and rather than utilizing solely books, students are now encouraged to utilize computers or tablet devices as just a preferred study method. Nevertheless, the increased use of technology in schools has had a good impact on current education. Regardless of the benefits of educational technology, it is crucial to remember the importance of teacher and student perspectives while implementing technological integration. In truth, technology, particularly internet resources, can be used to assist both teachers and students in their teaching and learning efforts. Utilizing good online resources has been one of the most significant learning approaches for students in school. As an instructor, a computer with an internet access has become a huge resource for students to easily access crucial data; for instance, in history, researches on the Internet has produced a massive possible cause of better materials, both written and graphical, without the exclusion of unrestricted access to archival information.
With the various happenings in different areas of modern globe –, one cannot help but be concerned regarding specific transformations, particularly those that have had severe social, political, cultural, and economic consequences. Even though such can be linked to individual contribution, it is essential to take note of how people are able to cope with the existing education that promotes learning and the type of information gained during the process. I see education as fundamental equipment that molds a person in various ways for them to establish a constructive influence in the community once they are done with their level of education. A person attaining a substantial learning experience is dictated by the elements that impact the employment or administration of teaching because the educational tools are often physical and can be accessed by any student a particular awareness or training is communicated. During such level, the widespread technology reasonably plays the basic role in educating individuals because the current era has confirmed to have utilized and advanced technology in every aspect of human activity.
Since I acquired an academic background in Masters in Research and Evaluation and being a Math teacher, it has been precise how essential technology is in the globe we are in today, for humans to perform activities efficiently and for them to realize their fullest potential. Supporting individuals for them to improve in every aspect of their personal growth they might desire is my greatest enthusiasm. Comparatively, I see this objective extending and taking into consideration education and technology in the same manner as various disciplines. I firmly hold that each person has the right to adequate education that is made possible using relevant tools, guidelines, and particularly technological resources one must access, to ease the learning process and increase the learning abilities of the learners. To meet realize this goal, educational technology cannot be left out of the equation as far as any student needs to figure out various aspects of advancement once they can afford to involve technology in their area of study.
When properly utilized, technology is magnificent equipment. It stimulates and motivates the learner towards the desired success. During my Master’s learning experience, I remember seeing substantial progress and elevated competence in student’s results whenever technology was considered. An aspect that encouraged me to go after Masters in Research and Evaluation was its capacity to enhance cooperation. Instructors can engage with students when teaching and still allow students to interact with one another. In every collaborative activity, learners exchange their perspectives and come to a rational conclusion. Technology allows them to interact one on one, inquire from the other person besides seeking additional guidance on a specific subject matter. While at home, it is easy for a student to submit their assignments, which are easily accessible for marking from the instructor’s end.
Technology has made the education sector discover the e-learning side of it, which is also known as instructional technology. It entails using it to help learning with adequate input, and academic institutions with competency-based curriculums can easily support any student aiming to pursue a career in technology. I have been desiring to enhance this type of study with Northern Illinois University, because it is one of the learning institutions that assist educators-in-the-making be equipped with applicable current ideas and expertise that are undoubtedly practical for a new development with another critical field, or course that is presently demanded.
I majored in education Technology with one aspect in mind. That is; the passion to teach, which I have noticed to be a natural gift. I am one of the individuals that enjoy being in the company of students or learners and not feel like I am at work because it comes out as a passion. I have noticed that my patience and keen listening helps me connect with people including students. Besides, technology is on a rapid advancement, and this increased the necessity to learn what technology can contribute in education. Thus, I am highly inspired to impart the role of education technology in a manner that can make learners establish equal acknowledgement for technology and education. It is my desire to continue exploring every possibility technology has to design detailed schemes or supplements worth taking an improved knowledge acquisition. After admission to the university, I anticipate observing the school demands via improved facilities and teaching staff, including its mission in affirming educational technology.
