The paper topic is a short paragraph discussing what you propose to research. For this paper, you must research an example of cyber war. It can be one that we discuss in class, or one that you find yourself. The most important part of your paper topic is your Statement.
A statement is an argument that you are making. For example, you could write a statement like, “The STUXNET attack on Iran was key to reducing the Iranian threat of nuclear weapons development”. Or, “US infrastructure is inadequately protected from malware attacks”.
For statement, you have 2 variables: independent and dependent variables. Dependent variables are the outcome you’re trying to discuss (ex: the reduced Iranian nuclear weapons development referenced above). Independent variables are the things you think are important in creating the outcome (ex: the STUXNET attack).
Your statement must have these two parts: an outcome, and the things that you believe cause the outcome. These are often difficult for students to create, but are integral in crafting the rest of your paper.
The annotated bibliography should also be short – 3-4 a bibliography (sometimes called a Works Cited section) with 3-4 readings/websites.
