We are requesting a grievance evaluation of the new position (Senior Regional Manager) that we believe has been awarded in a favoritism fashion.
In June 2021, an opportunity to elevate to a higher position was offered to several attending Managers for the Philadelphia School District. The position was for Regional Manager several current Area Managers applied for the opportunity, and only five individuals were selected to move on to an interview stage.
Interviews were conducted swiftly, and two individuals were selected from the five. Over the next few months, a back and forth over the salary was conducted, but the two individuals kept holding out. After four months of deliberation and a standing offer of $97,500 was not accepted the selected kept performing the duties. The process and finalizing filling the Regional Manager position was placed delayed.
On December 22, 2021, a new position was created with the title of Senior Regional Manager, and a pay grade was added for the position which was $5,000 dollars more than the Regional Manager position offered. This came as a surprise being that the two Facility Area Managers who were selected for the Regional Manager position were not filled.
Puzzled and amazed again several individuals applied for the new position which mirrored the same duties as the Regional Manager position was offering.
On January 04, 2022, the application for the Senior Regional position was closed. The application process was asked to be filled out when the CEO Dr. Hite closed the entire School District for individuals to have the opportunity to spend with their families during these pandemic times.
On January 21, 2022, a form letter was sent stating those who applied would not be forded the opportunity to interview for the position. Immediately an email was sent requesting an explanation as to why one position was given the full process to candidates and this one was not?
