TITLE: Skills Audit & Personal Development Planning Report
Using the key models and concepts from the module, you must:
Identify and examine key study and employment skills for business students, referring to suitable sources self-evaluate and reflect upon your individual development identify areas for improvement and research ways in which you can address these areas

stipulate how you will develop your skills through extra-curricular activities
You must write an individual report (3,000 words +/- 10%) which consists of 2 key areas:
Audit and Evaluation of Key Skills (1,700 words approx.)
Assess and reflect upon your individual development so far
Identify, demonstrate and rate your overall skills development through the formative reflective log exercise.
Examine & evaluate the development of your individual skills through the weekly reflective log exercise, focusing on THREE key skills that you developed during the learning.
You will decide upon the key skills that you will examine. It is expected that these will include SELF DISCIPLINE, communications, research, planning, decision-making, problem solving, organization, time-management, for example.
Demonstrate & detail your skills development / audit:
breakdown each chosen skills with reference to supporting reading, provide examples from (the Learning Log) and evaluate that skill.
The content in the table must be refined, concise & bullet- pointed information – this must be referred to in the body
Reflect upon your learning experience during the weekly group activity/discussions in class that enhanced your academic skills.
You will decide upon one core specific skill that you developed during the group activity using Gibbs’ Model of Reflection to support your discussions – Use a table to detail the reflection.
The content in the table must be refined, concise & bullet-pointed information – this must be referred to in the body. Within your examination of your skills and reflection you must:
Demonstrate your individual development with specific examples and evidence
Refer to qualitative evidence to support the above, e.g. feedback from peers AND TUTORS DURING THE LEARNING.
You must use and reference key concepts, models and terms from relevant academic reading.
Support your work using extracts from and references to suitable academic reading
Personal Development Research & Planning (1,300 words approx.)

Determine the areas that you need to develop with regard to these skills o arising from the skills audit / evaluation overview o drawn from a wider consideration of your study and employment skills o provide an overview (in a concise table)
Explore and consider the opportunities to learn and develop whilst at University
Research a number of developmental / learning opportunities
Your research must be demonstrated and sourced
Provide an overview (in a concise table)
Discuss the areas for development and focus on TWO avenues for improvement that you intend to pursue
Support your work with evidence from your searches, enquiries, applications, etc. relating to developing your skills / seeking experience
Include short tables in the body to map the chosen developmental opportunities examined against the key skills to be developed

Structure &Format
1.0 Introduction

Provide an overview of your skills development during the Learning. Then examine THREE key skills that you developed during the learning and THEN – use sections and sub-sections, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, e.g.
2.1 Teamwork Skills (for example)

2.3. IT Skills for example
2.4 Gibbs Reflective Cycle: Gibbs’ Reflection of Specific Experience during the learning especially experience of group activities. You must reflect upon one of your personal experiences especially during the group activities/exercises undertaken during the learning using Gibbs’ Model of Reflection.
3.0 Personal Development Research and Planning –
Identify key skills for development and research/explain the development opportunities Provide an overview of the opportunities to be pursued, and examine two of Them (20%) – use sections and sub-sections e.g.
3.1 Volunteering (for example)
3.2 Internships (for example) • PDP must provide key details and be supported with sourced research both of these must be referred to in the body of the report
3.3 You must provide a Personal Development Plan for the next 12-18 months
3.4 Up-to-date personal CV must highlight key areas of strength and those areas that are currently being developed (for example at your current place of work and areas warranting development (what you hope to develop further e.g. what you want to learn from a new employer).
