Theory Portfolio

Purpose: A portfolio is a visible indicator of your active engagement, application, and growth in sociological theory. This portfolio will display your ability to achieve the primary objectives as stated in the syllabus: to understand theories and develop skills to compare, contrast, and apply these to your own lives.

Requirements: Construct a theory portfolio following the guidelines below.

In total, approximately 15 pages of written materials are required.

All responses should be typed, single-spaced, Times New Roman font, with
one-inch margins on each side. Underline and briefly define all concepts used.

Essay: Respond to the essay title (e.g. essay #1 asks you to answer the question why study sociological theory?). Essays should illustrate your knowledge of sociological theory and relevant concepts as well as your growing ability to apply, analyze, and critique them.
