Practicing The Ministry
List 8-10 of those core values and give a two-sentence description of each. You might consider issues like the centrality of scripture, the priesthood of believers, etc. The majority of these will be developed in two preliminary assignments. You should accumulate all of them into a list here, but make sure to edit the list to include the most important and to state them in the best way.
Part 2: Pick 4 of the core values you listed in Part 1 and explain how a contemporary ministry would embody those values in about 400 words each.
That is, describe what kinds of practices ministers should follow, what types of ministries should be pursued, who should be involved, etc. Since all ministry is contextual, you will need to translate these ideas to fit the contemporary context.
Basic Requirements:
An essay of approximately 2,000 words
The key task is detail how core values of the Reformation should influence the practice of contemporary ministry.
Annotated Resources. To help substantiate your application of these values, you should engage the reformers themselves. For each core value in Part 2, you must give a list of at least 3 annotated citations that speak to these issues—either citations of the reformers themselves or of secondary discussions from resources below.1 The citations should support and describe how reformers understood the core value and/or the practice of ministry.
